Honey Pot Hill Orchards – Stow, MA

Mazes, hayrides, farm animals, PYO apples: Honey Pot Hill Orchards has everything you would look for for an idyllic fall afternoon. They actually have several different corn mazes to tackle, including The Big Green Monster Maze, that is a mile and a half long!

In addition to the fall activities, they have apples galore and all the lovely fall products you’re after, such as cider donuts and apple cider slushies.

If you want to get really excited for the coming fall season, I suggest you pop over to the orchard’s website. They have a really beautiful site that just SCREAMS fall in New England.

Cider Hill Farm – Amesbury, MA

Again, these MA apple orchard websites continue to impress. Cider Hill Farm‘s is really lovely and dynamic!

But let’s get to the basics: apples. You want ’em. They have ’em. (Plus blueberries, pumpkins, raspberries, peaches, and strawberries, depending on the season).

Cider Hill Farm is just over the border from New Hampshire, and is a place loved by children and adults alike. The fall fun starts with picking your own apples from the orchard, but continues with dozens of other activities. Of course there is a corn maze, animals to see, and the oh-so-essential cider donut, but there is also a food truck, the PitchFORK, to keep you satiated. One thing is for sure, you won’t go home hungry from this awesome MA apple farm.

Tougas Family Farm – Northborough, MA

Perhaps the best place to go apple picking with kids, the Tougas Family Farm has actually been named one of 10 best apple orchards in the country! So don’t miss this MA apple orchard when celebrating the fall season.

A family farm since 1981, Tougas is a magical spot with hayrides, excellent apple picking, a picturesque pumpkin patch, goats to visit with, and much more. It’s a classic fall destination for families from MA and beyond.

They’ve also got a well-stocked farm store (with a drive-through option available on select days) where you can purchase all your favorite apple goodies, like slushies, pies, donuts, scones, and many other baked goods.

Lookout Farm – South Natick, MA

There is a whole lot going on at Lookout Farm. Not just a place to pick your own apples (and other seasonal fruits) the farm has grown into an outdoor dining experience, event space, a brewery, cider maker, market, and more. All that, and it also happens to be one of the oldest continuously working farms in the USA.

This is definitely a place that deserves a closer look—and a visit at any time of year! And at just around a 30-minute drive from the city, this is a great option for go apple picking near Boston.

Bartlett’s Orchard – Richmond, MA

A classic New England apple orchard and farm awaits you here at Bartlett’s. The beautiful backdrop of the Berkshires will make your apple picking experience just perfect, and the rest of what the farm offers will ensure you have a day out you won’t forget.

The fresh apple cider is not to be missed here, plus all the many other items available in the store. Have fun shopping and celebrating fall!

Red Apple Farm – Phillipston, MA

Red Apple Farm not only has an adorably festive name, but it is a great spot for families. Started in 1912, Red Apple Farm’s mission is to provide an authentic New England family farm experience. From the sounds of it, they really deliver on that promise!

There is SO much to do here at this MA apple farm. Of course you’ll be able to PYO apples, but when that’s done, you can enjoy hay rides around the orchard, visit with the animals at the petting zoo, explore the vast walking trails, and browse through the country store.

Then there is the Brew Barn: Through collaboration with Moon Hill Brewing Co., the post and beam country barn at the farm is opened up every weekend summer through fall, and becomes an “outdoor brewery tap “room,” serving up local brews, fresh roasted nuts, barbecue, and popped-on-the-spot popcorn along with your farm favorites.” Don’t miss their Red Apple Farm Hard Cider! Yum!

Flat Hill Orchards – Lunenburg, MA

Flat Hill Orchards is a family farm apple orchard in Lunenburg Massachusetts with 80 acres of apple orchards available with 13 varieties of apples. Come to pick your own apples, then swing by the store for a fresh baked apple crisp; visitors can’t seem to get enough of this apple-y treat!

Carlson Orchards – Harvard, MA

Growing more than a dozen apple varieties, Carlson Orchards has been around since 1934. Don’t miss their hot apple crisp topped with ice cream. (OHMYGOSH).

Both soft and hard ciders are available here as well. You can grab these classic New England beverages plus food at their onsite Taproom.

Apex Orchards – Shelburne, MA

Many MA apple orchards don’t allow dogs, but this one, uniquely, does! So if you’re hoping to bring your canine pal on your apple-picking adventure, Apex Orchards it is! (PS: Dogs must be leashed).

On a hilly property with views of Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire, you can pick your own apples, pumpkins, and more. You can also hop aboard a tractor-drawn trailer ride at this apple orchard in Massachusetts.

Smolak Farms – North Andover, MA

One particularly cute Massachusetts apple orchard is at Smolak Farms.

There are always lots of events on this busy, historic farm, where you can also pick apples, enjoy a hayride, or visit with the animals. After enjoying the out of doors on a crisp autumn afternoon, tuck into some of the farm’s famous apple cider donuts. Not a fan of donuts? they have much more available at the bakery to choose from.

Parlee Farms – Tyngsboro, MA

If you’re on the hunt for a Massachusetts apple orchard with petting zoo, let me introduce you to Parlee Farms! This spot is fantastic, and their animal barns have more than 90 animals! Annie’s Goats in the Trees are perhaps the most popular attraction, a tall goat platform where you can send goat food way up into the trees!

In addition to the fun animal activities, Parlee Farms has a hay play maze, kids-sized tractor rides, and a vast PYO selection for apples and other seasonal products.

Carver Hill Orchard – Stow, MA

If you’re looking for a picturesque apple orchard in Massachusetts, Carver Hill Orchard in Stow is for you! This scenic apple orchard is focused on delivering a wholesome apple picking experience and many consider it a hidden gem orchard in Massachusetts.

Spend some time apple picking then head to pick up some of their locally famous apple cider donuts, always a major favorite!

Stowe Farm – West Millbury, MA

A historic Massachusetts farm, Stowe Farm is a family-run business spanning multiple generations. On their 60 lovely acres, visitors can pick fresh, crisp apples and enjoy a range of family activities and events. Some of the top things to do at Stowe Farm include visiting with the barnyard animals, taking a ride on the festive cow train, and climbing on the 8 feet-tall monster truck.

Watch the horses grazing in the nearby fields, play mini golf, hop on for a pony ride; there is an endless array of activities at this farm, making it definitely one of the best places to pick apples in Massachusetts (if not all of New England).
