Captain’s House Inn in Chatham Cape Cod

The Captain’s Cottage

Another quiet and beautiful place to stay in Cape Cod is the Captain’s House Inn in Chatham. What is today a Four-Diamond bed & breakfast in Chatham was once a sea captain’s estate. Captain Hiram Harding built the home for his new bride Lydia. Between the main home, carriage house, Captain’s Cottage, and stables, the inn now has 16 individual rooms for guests.

Editor’s Note: We stayed here in June 2022 and had a lovely experience! This inn is quiet and peaceful and ideal for couples looking for a romantic spot to stay on the Cape. We highly recommend the Hiram Harding room on the first floor of the Captain’s Cottage, which has a distinctive old world library/drawing room vibe. We loved it.

The Hiram Harding Room

In addition to the comfy rooms, the inn offers plenty of amenities. You can read our review here: Staying at the Captains House Inn, Cape Cod: A Review
